Peace Upon the Earth, Episode 3 of Legacy: May 4 Podcast
The School of Peace and Conflict Studies originated at ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø as a response to May 4. Today it’s central in ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø’s global presence. We travel to Rwanda, where ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø convened a global peace education conference and, through the Kigali Summer Institute, immerses students in peace-building centered on reconciliation, in a place that experienced the unimaginable 1994 genocide.

Chris Post Selected as 2024 Speaker for ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø’s Jerry M. Lewis May 4 Lecture Series
The lecture series created in 2022 to honor the legacy of ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø Professor Emeritus of Sociology Jerry M. Lewis, Ph.D., will feature Professor of Geography Chris Post, Ph.D., presenting “Developing and Interpreting the Wounded Student Markers at ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø†as this year’s selected speaker. The Jerry M. Lewis May 4 Lecture Series and Luncheon will be held on May 3.

¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø Remembers May 4, 1970, With 54th Commemoration
On May 3-4, 2024, ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø will hold its annual commemoration honoring the memory of May 4, 1970, a tragic day when the Ohio National Guard fired on ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø students during an anti-war protest on campus, killing four students, wounding nine others and sparking a turning point in American history.
