The ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø Golden Flashes football team claimed the program’s first MAC East Division title with a perfect 8-0 record and an 11-1 overall mark. ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø will be playing in its third bowl game in program history. ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹Ù꿉۪s first bowl appearance was in 1954, and the last one was in 1972. The 40-year bowl drought is the second longest in the nation.
In addition to a perfect conference record, ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø head football coach Darrell Hazell was named MAC Coach of the Year and is a semifinalist for National Coach of the Year. Dri Archer was named MAC Special Teams Player of the Year and broke ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹Ù꿉۪s single-season record for touchdowns. Nine Golden Flashes earned All-MAC honors, including three on the first team. Tackle Brian Winters became the second player in program history to get selected to play in the Senior Bowl.
