Ken Ditlevson, director of ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø's LGBTQ+ Center, was one of the volunteers adding rainbows to both sides of the Main Street Bridge in downtown Kent.
Volunteers decorated Kent's Main Street Bridge on Monday in preparation for Kent's Rainbow Weekend on Oct. 13-14. The rainbows downtown also celebrate National Coming Out Day on Oct. 11.
One of the highlights of the Rainbow Weekend's is the eighth annual Rainbow Run presented by ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø's LGBTQ+ Center. This 5K helps raise money to replenish ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø's LGBTQ+ Emergency Fund, which supports ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø LGBTQ+ students in crisis.
