How ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø alumnus Erin Simonek and Madison Tromler hit the ground running after graduation

Erin Simonek and Madison Tromler may be familiar faces if you watch the local evening news in Youngstown.

Both are alumnae of ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø’s journalism program who graduated in 2020 and said having a degree from ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø helped set them apart from the competition when they began their job searches.

Today, they are news anchors and multimedia journalists with 21 WFMJ-TV and credit the real-world training they experienced while studying at ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø for their immediate success after graduation.

Simonek and Tromler sat down with ¾ÅÓÎÓéÀÖ¹ÙÍø Today to talk about their experiences in the university’s journalism program and how it prepared them to hit the ground running within the first week on the job.
